I just think they were at their best when they were faster, is all. I feel they became a little less distinctive when they changed their sound.
And since you say yer broadening yer music, might I recommend a few bands?
-Rise Against (freakin awesome, and they just joined AFI at Dreamworks. Revolutions Per Minute is one of my favorite albums)
-Against Me! (As the Eternal Cowboy is so goddamn well written...)
-Tilt (Fast, catchy rock with a chick singer)
